METROsquash Windy City Open February 9 - 12

The Pro’s are coming!

That’s right, it’s time once again for the big event—The METROsquash Windy City Open presented by BMO Harris Bank. Thanks to BMO Harris Bank’s generous support of the event we will have some great pro matches lead by top seed Saurov Ghosal (world # 25) from India . The draw also includes other names squash fans will recognize—Shahier Razik, Ong Beng Hee, Oliver Pett (last year’s champion--he will have to qualify to make it to the main draw this year since we have a higher level of play) and of course, Mark Heather and Yoni Ellous , who are playing the qualifying draw.

But wait, there’s more! This year we are having an invitational pro doubles event with top talents such as Chris Walker, Nathan Dugan, and some all-star locals such as David Kay, Mark Heather and Aidan Harrison. You’ve got to check out the fast pace doubles game these gents play. If you want to join one of them as your partner, sign up as a $1,500 level patron and get entry into the doubles pro-am event (limited entries given on a first-registered, first-entered basis—only 5 spots left right now!)

The tournament is also open to all levels of Club play, from 2.0 to 5.5. In fact, since the tournament is a regional skill level championship, if you win your division, you get free entry into the National Championships skill level event. So you can join in the fun.

And don’t forgot the social side of the event!—Thanks to Crown Imports, there will be plenty of cold Corona and Victoria on hand as well as Gatorade. Breakfast, lunch and Meet the Players Dinner on Saturday, February 11, followed by a rockin’ party at the Gage—live music provided by 30 SOUTH, the Club’s member rock band.
